This is another fabric gift from good friend Irit Bourla.
Thanks, Irit! The design is actually embroidered onto
the fabric. It's really quite elegant in person.
I started out on a white fabric with yellow roses but the
composition seemed to fade out. That's when I decided
to try it on the Paprika color. I really liked the way the
red reflected into the shadows.

Wow. This just jumps off the screen. The yellow and paprika were make for each other. Great, Gwen.
I love the zig-zaggy shadow left of the lemons- and the way the flower is scrunched up next to the plate. I bet the fabric is lovely; you've caught some of the feeling of the embroidered pattern with you subtle shifts of color on the pattern. Nice work! And...thanks for your comments on my blog. I value you opinion highly.
Hi Gwen, j'arrive pour le thé!... Magnifique réalisation encore! Belle harmonie de couleurs et le rendu de la lumière est sublime. Bises
Yes, the red is a wonderful look with the yellow, Gwen. Very, very nice.
Love the flower wedged under the edge of the plate. Great color combo. Just flipped back through this page of posts and you have so many incredible paintings. I absolutely can't get over" tea stack" So fun to see what you come up with next!.
nice, I like the way the flower embraces the plate!
Gwen, yes, I opened the DPO page and my eye went right to yours! Good work, excellent composition... and the color.... delightful!
Great color combination.
I love the touch of turquoise on the lemon.
Another winner Gwen.
Hi Gwen,
This is stunning, colour and design.
Awesome.
Take care,
Barbara
Beautiful fabric. It so supports the lemons!
Wow! This just sings! Lovely!!
me too. Good change and choice.
The fabric works well with both the flower and the lemon. I love the slice of the dark shadow and white plate between the two yellow forms. Lovely!
good decision making Gwen. You nailed it. Love those reds and yellows
What a great color choice for the yellows of the fruit and flowers. I always have to have a close up look at your painting, because there is always so much going on that you can't see in a small view. I love the way you have painted the myriad of colors in the thread on the fabric. Just enough yellow gold to accentuate the bright yellow.
oooohhh...this just sings Gwen. love it!
Gorgeous - it really grabbed my attention! Beautiful colours and composition. Great job!
Man, those yellows look stunning against the dark reds. I just love the compositions and colors you chosoe.
As usual, beautiful work Gwen. Love the color and the detailed work....
